Job Summary

The Unit Secretary plays a vital role in keeping the department running smoothly with their administrative support. This position acts as a focus of communication in the nursing station, assisting patients when they arrive, fielding phone calls, maintaining and organizing patient records, and working with other departments to coordinate care services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with arrival and departure procedures
  • Field phone calls and respond to inquiries
  • Maintain and organize patient records
  • Work with other departments to coordinate care services
  • Manage office and medical supplies
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Recent acute care experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
