Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Processing Manager to join our team at Ascension Wisconsin. As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our central sterile supply unit, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, standards, and objectives that align with the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
  • Collect and report on data related to instrument distribution, loss, and replacement, and work collaboratively to identify and implement strategies for product standardization, supply reduction, and cost containment.
  • Manage staff relations, including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict resolution, and may perform and oversee processes such as scheduling, recruitment, payroll, and student engagement.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, departmental contracts, vendor relations, and quality and process compliance of all sterilization activities throughout the health system.
  • Establish and maintain sterilization, safety, and security standards, policies, and procedures for the Sterile Processing Department to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Requirements
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
  • One or more of the following:
    • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Education:
    • High School diploma equivalency with 3 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 2 years of experience OR 7 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
    • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
Additional Preferences

Sterile Processing experience required. Leadership experience required. Oversight of 3 sites: Elmbrook, St. Joseph, and Wauwatosa.
