Firefighter/Paramedic-Probationary Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Firefighter/Paramedic to join our team at Sandoval County, NM. As a member of our emergency response team, you will be responsible for providing fire suppression, emergency medical services, and rescue operations in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to emergency alarms and calls for service, performing fire suppression, rescue, life support, and emergency medical duties as required.
- Provide advanced life support services, including invasive and non-invasive medical procedures, and complex treatment modalities.
- Operate emergency, fire, rescue, medical, and lifesaving tools and equipment, functioning in an immediate danger to life and health (IDLH) environment.
- Inspect, clean, and maintain a variety of equipment, tools, and apparatus, ensuring all emergency response equipment is in a proper state of readiness and available for immediate use.
- Assess, treat, stabilize, and transport patients according to SCFR medical protocol and level of emergency medical certification/licensure.
- High School Diploma/GED Certificate from an accredited institution.
- Associate's Degree in Fire Science, Emergency Medical Services, or related field preferred.
- Current Paramedic License from New Mexico Emergency Medical Systems (NMEMS).
- Current Emergency Cardiac Care certifications for adult and pediatric patients.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license.
Sandoval County offers a comprehensive benefits package to full-time and part-time employees working 20 hours or more a week, including health care, dental, vision, flexible spending account, life insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, holiday pay, vacation and sick leave, and deferred compensation plan.
This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing in accordance with County policy Article XIII Drug and Alcohol Policy and Testing-Drug Free Workplace of the Sandoval County Personnel Rules and Regulation.
