Job Summary

Nuvance Health is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Services Supervisor to oversee the daily technical operation of the Respiratory Care Services Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the work of department staff, ensuring adequate staffing and coverage, and providing leadership and guidance to team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate clinical assignments and ensure adequate staffing and coverage.
  • Manage personnel, including interviewing, selecting, onboarding, training, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Monitor and improve department protocols, including smoking cessation, medication conversions, and weaning.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and training of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation and support the Blood Gas Laboratory as needed.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, resolving problems as necessary, and ensuring efficient, compliant, safe, and high-quality operations.
  • Manage departmental equipment and supplies, ensuring quality, appropriateness, and efficiency of respiratory care services.
  • Contribute to departmental QA, ensuring quality and adherence to regulatory agencies.
  • Optimize workflows to continually improve quality and efficiency.
  • Comply with all Health Quest and affiliate policies and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education.
  • Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Requirements
  • A.S. degree from an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Care.
  • Three years of Respiratory Therapist experience in ICU/NICU.
  • PREFERRED: Two years of management experience.
  • PREFERRED: B.S. Respiratory Care.
  • NYS Respiratory Therapist License.
Work Environment

Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Full-Time, Evening 8, Monday-Friday 4p-1230, Pulmonary Medicine Department.
