The Refugee Transportation Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the resettlement of newly arrived refugee families. This position requires a strong commitment to providing transportation and support services to clients, including obtaining basic needs, facilitating access to healthcare appointments, and addressing educational needs of the family.
Key Responsibilities- Provide transportation and support services to clients, including obtaining basic needs, facilitating access to healthcare appointments, and addressing educational needs of the family.
- Offer bus training on a weekly basis to all newly arrived refugee adults.
- Assist refugees in acclimating to their new community and culture.
- Participate in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainings.
- Actively pursue development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training, and attendance at conferences and workshops.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid and clean NYS drivers license and valid registration and insurance documents.
- One year professional driving experience preferred.
