Job Description

Festival Foods is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Meat Utility Worker to join our team. As a Meat Utility Worker, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality products are delivered to our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist guests with locating items on or off the sales floor, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and other special requests, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide excellent guest services by professionally answering department telephone or in on the sales floor, addressing guest concerns and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Wrap meat and seafood in appropriate packaging, ensuring all products are properly labeled and presented.
  • Ensure accurate pricing on items within displays and sales floor, filling, rotating, and removing product according to date to maintain a high level of quality and freshness.
  • Support teammates and positively contribute to the culture of the Meat Department, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues by practicing the boomerang principal, ensuring all guests receive a positive and satisfying experience.
  • Ensure high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all meat products on display, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels in Meat Department (containers, wraps, tags, etc.), ensuring all necessary supplies are available to meet customer demands.
  • Maintain food safety logs and lead by example through following proper procedures, ensuring all food safety protocols are followed and maintained.
  • Ensure all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, supporting the Meat Department team in achieving our goals and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel, maintaining a positive and professional attitude in all interactions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment, ensuring clear and effective communication at all times.
  • Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and maintained.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly, maintaining a high level of physical stamina and endurance.
  • Full range of upper body motion, including lifting, bending, and reaching, ensuring all tasks are performed with ease and efficiency.
  • Lifting up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis, maintaining a high level of physical strength and endurance.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures such as freezers, coolers, kitchens, and sales floor, maintaining a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Repetitive motion of hands and wrists, ensuring all tasks are performed with ease and efficiency.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
Work Schedule

The Meat Utility Worker is an hourly position that may be part-time or full-time, with a flexible schedule that may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
