Meat Department Associate

We are a Wisconsin-based, family- and employee-owned grocery retailer that is committed to giving back to the communities we serve and providing our guests with exceptional service and value. We operate over 40 full-service supermarkets across the state of Wisconsin.
Job SummaryThe Meat Department Associate is responsible for maintaining stock levels within the Meat Department by replenishing products as needed. This role executes the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests behind the service counter and on the sales floor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Guest Service: Assist guests with locating items on or off the sales floor, receive, prepare, and fulfill guest orders and other special requests, and provide excellent guest services by professionally answering department telephone or in on the sales floor.
- Meat and Seafood Preparation: Wrap meat and seafood in appropriate packaging and ensure accurate pricing on items within displays and sales floor.
- Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory levels in the Meat Department, including containers, wraps, tags, etc.
- Food Safety and Quality Control: Ensure high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all meat products on display, and maintain food safety logs.
- Teamwork and Communication: Support teammates and positively contribute to the culture of the Meat Department, address guest concerns and resolve issues by practicing the boomerang principal, and ensure all quality standards are being met.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel, good oral and written communication skills, and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
- Safety and Equipment Knowledge: Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies, and the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
- Physical Requirements: Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly, full range of upper body motion, lifting up to 80 pounds on an occasional basis, and occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule.
