Job Summary

The Emergency Department Technician (EDT) plays a vital role in providing supportive care to patients in the Emergency Department. Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, the EDT assists with patient care, performs approved procedures, and maintains a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living
  • Provide supportive care to patients in the Emergency Department
  • Perform approved procedures per policy
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age prior to start date
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Spoken and written communication skills
  • Team building skills
  • Ability to perform duties in a self-directed manner
  • One year of experience as EMT preferred
  • One year acute care hospital experience, preferred
  • High school graduate or equivalent, required
  • Current WI CNA or WI EMT-B Certification required
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Compensation and Benefits

Compensation range is $17.20 - $22.89 / hour. Benefits eligible. Full-time schedule with 60 hours per pay period. 12-hour, D/N rotation (may be scheduled for more day shifts). Every 3rd weekend.
