Job Summary:
Talent Software Services is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Manager for a contract position in Norman, OK. The opportunity will be six months with a strong chance for a long-term extension.

Position Summary:

The Environmental Sustainability Manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the plant's environmental management system, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, promoting pollution prevention and waste reduction, and training employees to reduce the plant's environmental impact. The role will also involve leading cultural change by demonstrating exceptional leadership and engaging employees on all levels, as well as implementing environmental programs, employee training, compliance monitoring, and management of accidents and impacts to the property.


Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Engage the entire workforce to drive cultural change and achieve environmental performance objectives and targets.

Ensure environmental compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and JCI corporate environmental systems, and act as the lead contact with regulatory agencies.

Perform incident investigations for any type of adverse environmental impact, using a formal process to identify root causes, corrective actions, and preventive measures.

Provide effective training for all environmental programs, including SWP3, SPCC, RCRA, and other relevant regulations.

Evaluate the safety management system for its effectiveness and maintain documented continuous improvement plans to improve environmental performance.

Develop and implement motivational and incentive programs to promote environmental awareness and enthusiasm among employees.

Perform and ensure compliance with industrial hygiene testing and other requirements to ensure a safe work environment.
Review planned changes and new equipment installations prior to receipt, utilizing the MOC process.

Approve or recommend changes in manufacturing and engineering matters that may impact environmental stewardship.

Help sustain the corporate environmental management system. Collect environmental data to identify root causes of compliance problems and pollution prevention opportunities. Implement proactive corrective actions.

Complete and submit applicable environmental reports in a timely fashion, including Tier II, TRI Form R, Generator's Residual Waste, City of Norman Water Discharge reports, and Waste-Water Self-Monitoring.

Record and maintain spreadsheets containing all paint booth, fin press, and parts washer chemical usage.

Assist with the administration, implementation, and compliance with the ISO14001 and 45001 EHS Management System, acting as the plant management representative.

Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste programs, ensuring correct handling, packaging, labeling, storage, and transportation of waste to approved treatment and/or disposal facilities.

Coordinate air emission, wastewater, storm water, and waste testing.
Investigate environmental processes to reduce waste and support efficient recycling methods.
Ensure all environmental impacts and processes are tracked in the Environmental Sustainability and Governance (ESG) platform.
Drive Environmental Performance throughout the plant.
All other duties assigned.

Qualifications:
Degree in Environmental Science or Occupational Health and Safety required.
3-5 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment.
ASP, CSP, or COSHO preferred.

Experience in the following fields:
RCRA, SWP3, PSM, Tier II, Form R, SPCC, Wastewater Discharge permitting and compliance.
