Job Summary

Benevolence Health Centers is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists and dental hygienists in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing Patients for Dental Procedures: Assist patients in preparing for dental work, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
  • Infection Control and Sterilization: Maintain a clean and safe environment by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays, and preparing materials for dental procedures.
  • Assisting Dentists and Dental Hygienists: Provide support to dentists and dental hygienists during procedures, including managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
  • Recording Patient Information: Accurately record treatment information in patient records, ensuring up-to-date and accurate documentation.
  • Providing Patient Education: Educate patients on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs, promoting healthy habits and preventing oral health issues.
  • Medical and Dental Histories: Collect and record medical and dental histories, as well as patient vital signs, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Postoperative Instructions: Provide patients with clear and concise postoperative instructions, as directed by the dentist.
  • Dental Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for dental equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Supply Management: Order dental supplies and maintain inventory, ensuring a smooth operation of our dental care services.

Requirements:

  • Certification or Associate Degree: Possess certification or an associate degree in an accredited dental assistance program.
  • Dental X-Ray Certification: Hold a valid dental x-ray certification.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with Computers: Have experience using computers for various tasks, including data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration with our team.
  • Professional Appearance and Attitude: Maintain a consistently professional appearance and attitude, reflecting positively on our organization.
  • Bilingual Capability: Possess bilingual skills, although not required, it is a plus.
