Job Overview:

General Summary:
The Advanced Practice Nurse serves in a specialized capacity within a hospital setting, focusing on surgical care.

Key Responsibilities:
The following duties are fundamental to the role. Failure to fulfill these responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, may lead to disqualification from the position.
Acts as the clinical authority in evidence-based nursing practices for designated patient groups.
Accountable for the creation, execution, and assessment of tailored care programs for specific patient demographics.

Innovates and implements effective solutions to address systemic challenges or patient care concerns in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Facilitates and/or engages in nursing research to enhance the body of evidence-based nursing practices.
Leads initiatives to advance nursing practices.
Functions as a change agent through individual and team mentorship and active participation in committees, task forces, and organization-wide projects.

Additional Duties:
Performs other tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Education:
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.

Experience:
At least two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse, ideally in the relevant specialty or educational area.

Licenses/Certifications Required:


Current license from the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of advanced clinical theories and nursing standards.
Familiarity with research methodologies.
Knowledge of process improvement strategies and tools.
Awareness of educational techniques and learner objectives.
Strong communication abilities.
Proficient in computer usage.
