Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Physicians with patient care and minor procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient clinical experience.
  • Perform Vision and Ocular Tests, explaining procedures to patients and documenting exam details and physician findings in the electronic chart.
  • Prepare and Maintain Treatment Rooms and ophthalmic instruments, adhering to strict infection control and sterilization protocols.
  • Administer Medications according to compliance standards and maintain accurate records.
  • Train and Mentor Colleagues, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team performance.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with industry developments and best practices, applying new skills and knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required; relevant certifications or specialized training a plus.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues.
  • Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to Work a Flexible Schedule, including weekends and varying shifts.
  • Minimum of One Year of Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician or in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) Certification or equivalent; enrollment in a certification program a plus.
  • Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) or equivalent; completion within 45 days of hire a requirement.
