Job Summary

The Associate Vice Chancellor - Technology and Business Sector Strategy is a key leadership position at City Colleges of Chicago, responsible for driving strategic initiatives in the technology and business sectors. This role requires a forward-thinking individual with a deep understanding of the technology and business ecosystem, as well as excellent leadership and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning and Leadership
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to strengthen and renew City Colleges of Chicago's focus on academic, equity, and workforce readiness in the technology and business sectors.
    • Provide leadership and direction in managing the district-wide strategic plan to address the dynamic needs of the sector.
  • Partnership Development and Management
    • Build and manage existing and new partner relationships within Chicago's tech and business ecosystem.
    • Develop and implement strategies to secure resources, workforce training, and employment opportunities for students.
  • Program Development and Implementation
    • Develop and launch programming that supports diverse students in successfully connecting to IT careers.
    • Work with district and college administrators to implement processes to ensure students have access to support services and resources.
  • External Relationship Management
    • Represent City Colleges of Chicago in external affairs and develop external partnerships with key stakeholders.
    • Develop and execute internal and external best practices.
  • Reporting and Supervision
    • Reports to the Deputy Provost.
    • Direct supervision of the Program Development Manager and Student Coordinator of Technology Sector Education Strategy.
Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of work experience in strategic consulting, or in a strategy department and/or turnaround department.
  • Experience working in the technology sector preferred.
  • Experience working in a higher education environment desirable.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in building a highly effective team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with process change and optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to advise and influence leaders throughout the organization on performance improvement opportunities in areas of academics and operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
