An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Facilities Mechanic to contribute to a dynamic senior living community at Purchase College, State University of New York. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine maintenance and emergency repairs across various systems including plumbing, HVAC, and electrical.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all areas are safe and accessible.
  • Diagnose issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit advanced skills in at least two trades, such as electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
  • Be available for on-call duties as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any operational challenges or system failures.
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely and effectively in all maintenance tasks.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and participate in ongoing training and development.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock supplies as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires the ability to:

  • Lift and carry items up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Push and pull items up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Engage in activities such as climbing, reaching, bending, and twisting.
  • Stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
