Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Structural Delivery Specialist to join our team at Drake Williams Steel. As a key member of our logistics and operations team, you will be responsible for delivering DWS products and materials to customers in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver products and materials to customers in accordance with DWS standards and customer needs
  • Load and unload materials onto or off of trailers, ensuring safe and efficient handling
  • Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, jib cranes, and gantry cranes to move materials
  • Identify and locate steel shapes and sizes, as well as other materials
  • Assist customers with unloading trucks, if necessary
  • Perform minor mechanical tasks on equipment, including daily inspections and cleaning
Requirements
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Current Class A CDL
  • Minimum of 2 years driving experience with a clean driving record
  • Ability to operate a commercial vehicle in a safe and professional manner
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Ability to understand and follow all established DOT guidelines
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, co-workers, supervisors, and managers
  • Ability to understand and carry out semi-complicated verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to read, write, and perform higher arithmetic computations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions
  • Ability to work under periodic supervision focused on the progress of work and setting priorities for job completion
  • Ability to possess pride in own workmanship, demonstrate attention to detail, and work safely
  • Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes in a safe and proper manner
Working Conditions

The Structural Delivery Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to heat, cold, wet, and humid conditions. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, and climb, as well as to push and pull materials. The employee must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including steel-toe safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and hard hats.
