Construction Laborer

We are seeking a skilled Construction Worker to join our team at the City of Alice. As a Construction Worker, you will perform skilled construction work and operate various types of construction equipment under supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.
- Set up barricades when required to protect employees and the general public.
- Dig holes, run-off gutters, and trenches using hand tools and other equipment.
- Position, join, align, and seal pipe sections.
- Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, and stretch tight lines.
- Level earth to fine grade specifications.
- Valid Texas Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- 2+ years of industrial/utility construction work experience.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Basic math skills.

Work outside or inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces. Frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, dirt, sewage, water, toxic chemicals, and materials. Work around moving objects or vehicles. Insects, rodents, may work alone. Regular exposure to high heat, fast-moving mechanical parts.
Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
