Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Practitioner (ARNP/PA) to join our team in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Washington.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide independent and collaborative patient management from admission to the CTICU through transfer of care to the acute care setting. They will work on a dedicated cardiothoracic inter-professional team with other established APPs, critical care physicians, and cardiothoracic surgeons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform bedside ICU and Acute Care procedures
  • Provide care for critically ill cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients
  • Participate in the education of nursing and resident staff
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Requirements
  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C
  • Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA
  • Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment
  • Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in critical care and the care of cardiothoracic surgical patients
  • ACLS Certification
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer knowledge and command of basic personal computer skills
