Advanced Practice Provider: Integrative Medicine Specialist

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team as an Advanced Practice Provider: Integrative Medicine. This role will provide an integrative medicine approach to the evaluation and medical management of Oncology and Hematology patients in our Fred Hutch Cancer Center Integrative Medicine (IM) Program.
Responsibilities:- Provide outpatient supportive care and integrative medicine services to a diverse, oncology and hematology patient population.
- Facilitate IM clinical research in this population.
- Assess and manage basic health needs of patients, address treatment toxicities, perform integrative medicine procedures (e.g., acupressure, medical auricular acupuncture), and consult with and refer to professional peers as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the oncology treatment team to coordinate care of patients.
- Training in a formal integrative medicine program and at least one year of experience in the use of integrative medicine therapies in the oncology setting is preferred.
- Training and experience in self-care in the oncology setting, including use of dietary supplements, mind-body medicine therapies, acupuncture, acupressure, and other evidence-based IM therapies as well as lifestyle practices is preferred.
- A working knowledge of basic oncology principles and practice.
- Excellent communication skills to ensure optimum patient care outcomes in a complex care environment.
- Respectful and ethical interactions with staff, patients, and their family/caregivers.
- Training in mind-body medicine therapies.
- Training in medical acupuncture and/or auricular acupuncture.
- Training in acupressure.
- Experience in program development.
- Experience with education and teaching.
- Comfortable speaking publicly (peers and patients).
- Experience as an Integrative Medicine Clinician.
