JOB OVERVIEW:


The Facility Maintenance Lead is tasked with overseeing and directing all maintenance activities during the second shift at the Ripon, WI facilities.

This role emphasizes the execution of maintenance protocols, fostering a reliability-centered approach, and promoting a culture of ongoing enhancement.

This position also entails providing leadership, initial supervision, technical support, and training for a team of industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance technicians.

The Facility Maintenance Lead is accountable for achieving unit objectives, supervising assigned personnel, and managing daily operations during their designated shift.

Responsibilities are executed with significant autonomy within the framework of established policies, procedures, and guidelines. Performance and outcomes are assessed through the inspection and analysis of records, reports, completed work orders, and equipment performance. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster a culture of safety and implement workplace policies effectively.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with hourly team members, union representatives, and management.
  • Ensure that technicians submit completed work orders with actual hours and comments daily.
  • Monitor, analyze, and enhance key performance indicators (KPI) such as safety, asset utilization, maintenance costs, PM compliance, and schedule adherence.
  • Assist in defining corrective work orders as necessary with the Maintenance Planners.
  • Develop and manage weekly schedules for shift technicians, prioritizing emergency tasks as they arise.
  • Assess team member performance and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • An Associate Degree in Engineering, Electro-Mechanical, or Business Management is preferred, although substantial experience and specialized training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a skilled role and at least 2 years of experience as a maintenance supervisor or team leader.
  • Proficiency in mechanical, electrical, and facilities equipment, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings across all areas.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and the operational characteristics of equipment (stamping, automated fabrication, machining, paint processes) involved in those processes.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and capable of motivating a team.
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and effectively.
  • Special qualifications: Ability to supervise diverse team members and guide a technical workforce to ensure the facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly manner. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules. Must drive innovation and be adaptable to evolving technologies.
  • Core competencies: Communication, Management, Human Resource Development, Facility Maintenance, and Administrative Skills for ensuring seamless completion of all maintenance activities. Responsible for upholding organizational standards and safety protocols.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Capable of stooping, bending, standing for extended periods, manual dexterity, and lifting up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
