Job Overview:
The Facilities Maintenance Lead is tasked with overseeing and coordinating all maintenance functions during the 2nd shift at our facilities. This role is pivotal in executing maintenance strategies, fostering a culture of reliability, and promoting continuous improvement. The position entails providing leadership, direct supervision, technical support, and training to a team of skilled electrical and mechanical maintenance technicians. Responsibilities include achieving unit objectives, supervising team members, and managing daily operations within established policies and guidelines. Performance and outcomes are assessed through inspections, record analysis, and equipment evaluations. This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
This is a 2nd shift position. Monday through Friday 1pm-10pm.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate a safety-oriented environment and enforce workplace policies.
- Foster strong relationships with team members, union representatives, and management.
- Ensure technicians submit accurate work orders with detailed hours and completion notes daily.
- Monitor, assess, and enhance key performance indicators (KPI) such as safety, asset utilization, maintenance expenses, PM compliance, and schedule adherence.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Planners to define corrective work orders as necessary.
- Develop and manage weekly schedules for shift technicians while prioritizing urgent tasks.
- Assess team member performance and promote ongoing improvement.
Knowledge/Experience/Education:
- An associate degree in Engineering, Electro-Mechanical, or business management is preferred, though substantial experience and specialized training may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a skilled role and at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leader capacity.
- Proficient understanding of mechanical, electrical, and facility equipment, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings across various domains.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment functionality (such as stamping, automated fabrication, machining, and painting) relevant to those processes.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated with the ability to inspire and lead a team.
- Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously and effectively.
- Special qualifications: Ability to supervise diverse team members and guide a technical workforce to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly facility. Adaptability to changing schedules and technology is essential.
- Core competencies: Communication, Management, Human Resource Development, Facility Maintenance, and Administrative skills to ensure seamless completion of maintenance activities. Responsible for upholding organizational standards and safety protocols.
Ability to stoop, bend, stand for extended periods, manual dexterity, and lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Must have:

5 years of maintenance experience in a skilled role.
2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Supervisor/Team Leader.
