Job Description

LHC Group is seeking a highly skilled Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients in their homes.

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing occupational therapy to patients in their homes to restore them to their fullest physical ability.
  • You will perform your duties in accordance with policies and procedures and the established plan of care.
  • You will instruct and aid patients in evidence-based treatment within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant and according to state laws governing occupational therapy assistants.
  • You will observe, record, and report to the supervising OT, the nurse supervisor, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
  • You will coordinate care with other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
  • You will instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the healthcare team in the areas of therapy within the scope of the occupational therapy assistant.
  • You will visit patients within the entire service area of their respective agency and other nearby LHC agencies as needed.
  • You will complete a progress note for each visit and submit progress notes per LHC policy.
  • You will adhere to LHC Therapy Standards of Practice in provision of service to all patients.
  • You will participate in staff conferences and committees as requested by the agency.
  • You will have schedule flexibility to ensure we provide care to the patient as needed.
Requirements
  • Current OTA licensure in the state of residence.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
Additional State Requirements
  • AL: Must have two (2) years experience practicing as an Occupational Therapist.
  • CT: Must be certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • District of Columbia: Not allowed to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • IN: Must be certified by a national therapy association.
  • LA: Must have a minimum of two (2) years experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • NY: Must be certified and registered with the state of New York.
  • SC: Must be certified and in good standing with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • AR, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, KY, MA, MD, MI, MS, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, TN, TX, VA, WA, WV, WI: No additional state-specific requirements.
