Sanitation Specialist Job Overview

Are you dedicated to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for older adults? At Quail Park of Lynnwood, we are seeking a Sanitation Specialist to ensure our residents enjoy a safe and sanitary living space. As a vital member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for washing all cookware, utensils, and dining ware, ensuring they are returned to their proper locations. You will also monitor wash water temperatures and keep track of any food waste or damaged items.

Minimum Qualifications for Sanitation Specialists

  • Prior experience in dishwashing within a restaurant or senior living environment is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential
  • A commitment to customer service and a desire to exceed expectations is required
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and speak English for effective communication with residents and team members
  • Compliance with all health-related and food-handling regulations
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification is necessary
  • Current Food Handlers certification is required
  • Subject to pre-employment screening including TB testing and background checks

Key Responsibilities of the Sanitation Specialist

  • Prepare the dishwashing machine for operation during your assigned shift
  • Thoroughly wash all pots, pans, utensils, and dishes used during your shift
  • Ensure that all china, glassware, silverware, and equipment are returned to designated areas after cleaning
  • At the end of your shift, clean the dishwashing machine according to established procedures
  • Dispose of all kitchen and dish room garbage in the appropriate containers as needed
  • Mop the dish room and kitchen floors throughout your shift as necessary
  • Assist with daily, weekly, or monthly kitchen cleaning tasks as assigned
  • Support cooks and dining room staff in preparing and delivering room service trays
  • Assist the Director of Signature Dining, Lead Cook, and Cook with food preparation as directed
  • May help in preparing carts for delivery
