Factory Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Factory Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Arctic Storm Management Group. As a key member of our factory operations team, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and monitoring all factory equipment used in the production of fish products in a seafood processing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Continuously monitor and maintain all factory equipment, including moving and stationary equipment, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment and systems, including conveyors, pumps, hydraulic systems, and motors.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest equipment function, maintenance, and repair knowledge, including packaging systems, water piping, and fabrication techniques.
- Work closely with the Factory Manager, Baader and Surimi technicians, and vessel Electrician to ensure optimum equipment operation.
- Assist with training crew and labor support in equipment safety, Lock Out/Tag Out awareness, and procedures.
- Support the lubrication program, ensuring regular schedules and documentation for each shift.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of parts onboard the vessel for repairs at sea and in the shipyard.
- Identify and address worn or damaged equipment, communicating and documenting maintenance and parts needs with the appropriate departments.
- Schedule maintenance, repair, and labor needs for shipyard layup periods.
- Oversee the direction and implementation of shipyard maintenance and repair programs, including documenting workflow, parts requisitions, and inventory.
- Formal certification or equivalent training and experiential knowledge in fish processing equipment, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication.
- Accurately maintain/support documentation protocols.
- Lock Out/Tag Out training or ability to attain training certificate through company-provided training.
- Continued education in processing equipment and implementation in the vessel factory environment.
- Experience with fabrication and equipment design as necessary.
- Adaptable to changes in production requirements and the need for equipment maintenance and repair.
Shifts are 12-16 hours per day, 7 days a week for the duration of the fishing contract. Contracts are seasonal, duration-based on the season and the availability of fish. Conditions are regularly cold and wet, and weather will cause the vessel to move unexpectedly during provided shifts.
Crew quarters provide a bunk, mattress, and locker. The crew lounge offers access to two computer kiosks for short-term usage during breaks.
