Job Description

Ryder System is seeking a skilled Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician to join our team in Mechanicsburg, PA.

Job Summary:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Conduct inspections and diagnose issues with vehicles to identify areas for improvement.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn-out parts, such as engines, transmissions, and axles.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair complex issues.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance:
    • Lubricate and maintain equipment to prevent wear and tear.
    • Check and maintain tire pressure, tread depth, and wheel alignment.
    • Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues.
  • Repair and Replacement:
    • Repair or replace damaged or worn-out parts, such as engines, transmissions, and axles.
    • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair complex issues.
  • Customer Service:
    • Interact with customers to understand their needs and provide solutions.
    • Communicate effectively with customers to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Teamwork:
    • Work collaboratively with other technicians and support staff to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to improve overall performance.

Requirements:

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Vocational or technical certification in a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • At least two years of experience in heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and repair.
    • Proven track record of completing tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Skills:
    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and tools.
