Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician

Job Summary:

Ryder is seeking a skilled Mobile Maintenance Diesel Technician to join our team in Mechanicsburg, PA. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform system checks, including power to compressor, visual inspection of condenser, belt tension, etc.
  • Conduct road tests to identify cause of complaints for repairs and ensure quality of repair work performed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including tire inspections, brake checks, and lubrication of throw-out bearing, linkage, shafts, and cables.
  • Identify and repair electrical issues, including cranking system and lighting system problems.
  • Replace bulbs, lenses, and simple light assemblies.
  • Perform other maintenance tasks as required, including tire and wheel maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment.
  • Vocational or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to Company policies in all areas.
  • Proven hands-on mechanic, customer service, and account management skills.
  • Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
