Join Our Team as a Public Health Nurse Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Nurse Supervisor to join our team at Franklin County Public Health. As a Public Health Nurse Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the implementation, management, and supervision of our community-based case management and home visiting program.

About the Role

The Public Health Nurse Supervisor will provide program implementation, management, and supervision of a community-based case management and home visiting program. This position will involve partial remote work and will require the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates a team of Public Health Nurses and Administrative staff
  • Provides clinical and case management program oversight
  • Provides direct and indirect supervision, coaching, and oversight to staff through performance evaluations, mentoring, and discipline
  • Participates in candidate reviewing, interviewing, and providing hiring recommendations
  • Performs chart reviews in the electronic health record system and implements quality improvement measures
  • Promotes program sustainability by identifying new sources of funding
  • Demonstrates public health nursing presence in the community through various forms of outreach pertaining to general health promotion, infant safe sleep education, and infant mortality surveillance among other topics
  • Serves as a resource for health education for providers, healthcare systems, and community agencies
  • Attends internal and external meetings with community partners
  • Participates in other related PHN duties as assigned, such as assisting with emergency preparedness or response activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited College of Nursing
  • 5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse or 2 years' experience as a Public Health Nurse
  • 2 years direct supervisory or equivalent leadership experience
  • Documented knowledge and proficiency using an Electronic Health Record system
  • Current and unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse license; Ohio Driver's License; BLS CPR Certification
  • Master's Degree preferred; Grants management and administration experience preferred

We offer a competitive salary range of $34.52/hour - $41.42/hour for Public Health Nurse III. This is an exempt position.
