Job Title: Public Health RN 1

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Registered Nurse to join our team at the West Central Health District. As a Public Health RN 1, you will play a vital role in protecting the lives of Georgian residents and promoting healthy lifestyles in diverse communities statewide.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide a wide variety of nursing care in the community, usually from a mobile unit, as an extension of the county health department.
  • Administer various vaccines, including Flu, COVID, & Monkey Pox, perform finger sticks to screen for sexually transmitted diseases, lead, etc.
  • Perform blood pressure screenings
  • Provide patient education & refer patients to community partners, when indicated
  • Provide support to the county health departments with scoliosis screenings, immunizations audits, health fairs/community events, etc.
  • Provide support to the health department when no community events are scheduled.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of a PHN course within one year of hire
  • Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
  • CPR certification
