Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient rooming and execute the intake and data collection process according to established protocols.
- Gather preliminary patient history and accurately input information into the medical record system for physician review.
- Complete necessary training to document services provided, orders, and medications in real-time during patient encounters.
- Maintain an adequate inventory of medical supplies and vaccines for the practice.
- Serve as a mentor and preceptor for new clinicians.
- Perform advanced clinical skills, including establishing IV access and urinary catheterization.
- Prepare for clinical activities by reviewing patient records and ensuring appropriate scheduling.
- Participate in specialty clinics and be cross-trained to support various roles within the practice.
- Focus on clinical intake and actively seek opportunities to mentor and train others.
- Administer medications, including oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous injections, as well as vaccinations.
- Conduct laboratory duties, including point-of-care testing and quality control measures.
- Manage electronic medical record requirements, including in-basket communications and prescription preparation.
- Facilitate clinical intake through both in-person and telephone interactions.
- Ensure clinical areas are stocked, organized, and cleaned appropriately.
- Document services rendered in the medical record accurately.
- Prioritize patient care activities based on the needs of patients and the interdisciplinary team.
- Implement age-appropriate interventions as directed by the physician.
- Maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinical experience.
- Foster a safe environment for both patients and staff during care delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure safe and quality patient care.
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous clinical experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Valid Virginia RN Licensure is required.
- BLS Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Work in a dynamic clinical setting that involves assisting patients and standing for extended periods. Physical demands include the ability to lift, push, and pull weights, as well as frequent bending, stooping, and walking. Potential exposure to body fluids and chemicals is present in this role.
