Job Title: Director of Merchandising and Product Development

UNRL is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Merchandising and Product Development to lead our Product Development Team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the product development strategy, overseeing the design and production process, and ensuring the on-time delivery of high-quality apparel that aligns with our brand's vision and market demands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement product development strategies to create innovative and market-leading apparel collections.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, product developers, and technical staff to achieve peak performance.
  • Establish clear timelines and manage each development end-to-end to ensure development deadlines are met.
  • Track each development and communicate status updates internally; Oversee PD team to prioritize tasks to ensure efficiency and on-time completion.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and supply chain to ensure cohesive product development and successful product launches.
  • Ensure all products meet quality, budget, and timeline specifications; Maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and industry-leading quality.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle from concept to production through closeout - ensuring seamless execution through every stage.
  • Manage the product development budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify emerging trends, consumer needs, and competitive landscapes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Business, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product development or related roles within the clothing/apparel industry.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management with a proven track record of leading successful product development projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervising and leading a team.
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends, textile, and garment manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and delegation skills.
  • Certifications in project management are a bonus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Passion for sport and athleisure apparel is preferred.
