Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our ICU team at the University of New Mexico Hospitals. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care and clinical leadership to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $85,000-$110,000 based on experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including sign-on bonus and relocation reimbursement opportunities.

Job Description

As a Critical Care Nurse, your primary responsibility will be to work within the nursing process to provide direct care to assigned patients. This includes assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based practices to promote optimal patient outcomes. You will also serve as a role model and clinical leader, promoting a positive work environment and fostering collaboration among interdisciplinary teams.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Your expertise will be utilized to identify and report potential safety concerns, implement safety protocols, and promote a culture of patient safety and quality care.

You will work in collaboration with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans, incorporating age-specific considerations and discharge planning. Your strong communication skills will enable you to effectively document clinical findings, communicate with patients and families, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Nationally accredited nursing graduate with Bachelor's Degree
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency (not required)
