We are seeking a highly skilled Land Development Assistant Engineer to join our team at NV5 in Cary, NC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will provide engineering design assistance and review of commercial, residential, and/or institutional land development projects.

The ideal candidate will have a BS degree in Civil Engineering and 0 to 4 years of civil/site related work experience. You will be responsible for providing engineering and design of land development and utility projects, coordinating work with project managers, engineers, and designers, and utilizing CAD software to prepare drawings.

Additional responsibilities include corresponding with clients, ensuring quality control procedures are implemented, and completing project tasks within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering and design of land development and utility projects
  • Coordinate work with project managers, engineers, and designers
  • Utilize CAD software to prepare drawings

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0 to 4 years of civil/site related work experience
  • Knowledge of MicroStation/GeoPak or AutoCAD/Land Development Desktop a plus

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment and physical demands described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.

Work will primarily be in the office setting with limited opportunities to be exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

Work will be primarily working with fingers by picking, pinching, typing and grasping often with repetitive motion.

Must have visual acuity for viewing a computer screen, the ability to talk, hear and sit for extended periods of time.

Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
