Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paramedic to join our medical team on board our cruise ships. As a Paramedic with the Holland America Group, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality patient care in a unique and challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls and provide prompt and effective first response, triage, stabilization, and transfer of patients as needed.
  • Patient Care: Provide high-level, evidence-based patient care in accordance with doctor's orders and current medical regulations.
  • Medical Operations: Assist in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment, and participate in drills, audits, and inspections to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the medical center.
  • Teamwork: Work effectively with the medical team to provide a high level of customer service and maintain a professional, dignified, friendly, assertive, and polite manner at all times.
Requirements
  • A Paramedic qualification at an Advanced Life Support level
  • A currently valid professional registration with a regulatory body
  • A minimum of three years of clinical experience as a registered paramedic
  • Background experience in public ambulance service, emergency response, or other acute care settings
  • Valid ALS/ACLS certificate before joining a vessel
  • PALS certification expected within the first year of employment
  • A Valid passport
  • Eligibility to be issued a United States C1/D Visa (not applicable for US and Canadian citizens)
  • Verbal and written fluency in English, both conversational and technical
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 productivity suite
  • Experience with the use of electronic health records is preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
