Job Description

The Department of Theatre & Dance at Texas State University seeks a highly skilled and organized individual to fill the role of Digital Video Specialist. This position will play a crucial part in managing and supporting the university's growing film program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Management: Oversee and maintain all film equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and properly utilized by students and faculty.
  • Team Supervision: Hire, train, and supervise a team of student workers to assist with equipment management and event support.
  • Event Planning: Organize and execute all film program events, including screenings, fundraisers, workshops, and end-of-year celebrations.
  • Studio Reservations: Manage and coordinate studio reservations to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Technical Support: Collaborate with the video coordinator and IT staff to provide technical support for the sound stage, sound recording space, and computer labs.
  • Alumni Resources: Oversee and manage alumni resources, including the Facebook network, job board, and interview coordination.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in film production, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience: Documented ability to implement organizational and project management practices, industry knowledge, and experience with film equipment trends, best practices, tools, and uses.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of Asset Management software (Cheqroom or equivalent), exceptional communication, organizational, and project management skills, and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or online equivalent.
