Job Summary

Temple University seeks a highly skilled Financial Operations Manager to join our team. This full-time position will be responsible for planning and directing the financial operations of the Criminal Justice Training Programs (CJTP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement fiscal plans to forecast, prepare, and monitor contracts, grants, and sponsored projects.
  • Approve expenditures for multiple funds totaling $2-$3 million.
  • Oversee department payroll, assist with project management, and perform financial queries.
  • Prepare summary and detailed reports, and handle all financial audit inquiries and cost center reconciliations.
  • Review monthly reconciliations and financial reporting requirements, and monitor all departmental expenditures to ensure accuracy.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of related finance or accounting experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and prepare journal entries/transfers and develop spreadsheets.
  • Expertise in standard financial practices, analytical skills, and ability to work with financial data sets.
  • Organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work within the fiscal systems at a university level and make financial decisions.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interact with diverse internal and external constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Temple University's financial systems.
  • Strong financial management and reporting skills.
