Position Overview:
As a Pharmaceutical Tablet Press Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production of dietary supplements by setting up and managing tablet press machinery. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining cleanliness of the equipment, tools, and workspace. Depending on the production schedule, you will be required to perform mold changes. Additionally, you will assist in various processes, including operating other machinery for milling raw materials and inspecting finished products.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs) and follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring timely completion of scheduled production.
  • Read and interpret detailed Batch Production Record instructions, completing necessary documentation for tasks such as:
    • Setting up and operating machinery, making adjustments as needed during operation.
    • Disassembling and reassembling equipment, including performing mold changes.
    • Verifying equipment settings and molds prior to tablet production.
    • Conducting in-process checks throughout the batch, including fill weight and hardness.
    • Collecting and weighing tablet yields into containers using platform scales.
    • Calculating and documenting total theoretical tablet yield and actual yield.
    • Loading containers onto pallets for in-house or outsourced coating processes.
  • Work in an environment where exposure to allergens (such as egg powders), odors, dust, and mechanical vibrations may occur. Be prepared for a loud noise level.
  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment and promptly report any issues to management.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas before and after use, including disassembly and reassembly as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of floors and workspaces to uphold sanitary conditions.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance personnel to perform daily quality checks.
  • Foster effective communication with colleagues to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including hairnets, gloves, hearing protection, and dust masks.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to use a calculator for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of decimals and basic units of measure.
