As a Radiation Therapist, you will work closely with a Radiation Oncologist and may be required to travel to multiple locations to provide coverage.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Treat patients with ionizing radiation, adhering to regulatory guidelines and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Monitor equipment parameters, document malfunctions, and understand emergency procedures to ensure safe and effective treatment.
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment schedules, recognizing and reporting patient concerns and physical problems to relevant personnel.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and procedures for treatment.
- Assist in the clinical instruction of Radiation Therapy Students and provide radiation therapist coverage at various LCI Radiation Oncology sites as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications
A graduate degree from an AMA-approved school of Therapeutic Radiology or international equivalent is required. Registration with the ARRT or eligibility to register within the first 90 days of employment is also mandatory, along with BLS certification.
