Molecular Genetics Specialist

Baylor Genetics is seeking a skilled Molecular Genetics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for performing testing and troubleshooting assay performance, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and adhering to our Code of Conduct.
Key Responsibilities- Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform testing and troubleshoot assay performance to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Laboratory Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Code of Conduct: Adhere to our Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics Compliance Program.
- Molecular Genetics Technologist I: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology, 0-2 years of relevant experience, and certification (preferred) in MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP).
- Molecular Genetics Technologist II: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology, 2-4 years of relevant experience, and certification (preferred) in MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP).
- Molecular Genetics Technologist III: Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or medical technology, 4-6 years of relevant experience, and certification (preferred) in MB(ASCP) or MT(ASCP).
- Analytical: Synthesize complex information, collect and research data, and use intuition and experience to complement data.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information, and develop alternative solutions.
- Technical Skills: Possess strong technical expertise in relevant fields, assess own strengths and weaknesses, and pursue training and development opportunities.
- Frequently required to sit, stand, and utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Frequently required to talk or hear and utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard.
- Occasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials.
