About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our Water/Wastewater group, supporting projects in the Mid-west. This role will lead and support design efforts for a variety of water infrastructure projects, including treatment facilities, pump stations, and conveyance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
  • Participates in development of technical proposals.
  • Designs low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and building services.
  • Prepares and develops engineering studies, reports, calculations, designs, specifications, and construction cost estimates in compliance with applicable code and standard requirements.
  • Establishes electrical equipment performance parameters based on project requirements and coordinates with equipment vendors to refine preliminary selections.
  • Uses computer software as a tool to solve engineering problems.
  • Manages designs during construction, including shop drawing review, information request response, and punch list generation.
  • Provides quality assurance oversight and independent quality control reviews to support deliverables developed by others, including calculations, plans, specifications, and engineering reports.
  • Develops engineering fee estimates, assists with technical proposal preparation, and participates in client presentations.
  • Works within a project team environment, interfacing and coordinating with other disciplines and design team members.
  • Collaborates with design professionals and project managers in other US offices. Occasionally collaborates internationally.
  • Occasional light local and national travel to project sites.
Requirements
  • Minimum Requirement: BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 6+ years of Electrical design experience, preferably relating to water treatment facilities, pump stations, or water infrastructure. Licensed as a Professional Engineer, or ability to become licensed through reciprocity. Maintains an NCEES Credential Record.
  • Proficient with electrical design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, and Amp Calc.
  • Interested in and experienced with project management ranging from small, discipline-specific type to larger multidiscipline type.
  • Proven problem solver able to grasp complex concepts readily.
  • Ability to apply passion and leadership in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
