The Lead Automation Testing Specialist will engage in software evaluation, formulation, and execution of Testing Strategies, Plans, and Automated Test Scripts, alongside other facets of the software development lifecycle. The individual will be tasked with crafting and assessing Client-side JavaScript code developed in frameworks such as React, Angular, and React Native (for mobile applications) as dictated by project specifications.

This position operates in a hybrid model requiring occasional onsite presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Creating automation test scripts utilizing
    • Detox (mandatory)
    • Cypress (familiarity and some experience preferred)
    • Playwright (experience is a bonus but not essential)
    • Selenium (essential)
    • and others
  • Generating test data and executing Data Validation
  • Testing data interface messages with JSON and XML message formats
  • Developing SQL or Unix scripts for test data creation or test harness automation
  • Conducting regression, functional, and system testing
  • Validating outcomes and producing test summaries and defect reports
  • Identifying defects and requirement inconsistencies, generating defect change requests, and reporting discrepancies
  • Utilizing modern software engineering IDEs such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, etc., for design, development, and testing of software
  • Collaborating with users in an Agile development framework to comprehend and document requirements in JIRA
Required Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • 9+ years of pertinent technical experience (prior development experience is advantageous)
  • Proficient in Mobile automation testing, Detox, and Selenium
  • Experience with at least three programming languages (Java, Python, etc.)
  • Basic SQL query capabilities and a general understanding of relational databases.
  • Ability to comprehend data models and develop test scripts based on the data model
  • Evaluate test outcomes, report, and manage defects.
  • Strong understanding of Object-Oriented programming and Data Structures.
  • Capacity to thrive in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information to diverse groups with varying technical proficiency.
  • Strong initiative: capable of taking high-level requirements, seeking clarifications, and executing tasks efficiently.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience across all phases of application testing, including backend testing, functional, usability, regression, load/stress, and performance testing
  • Familiarity and some experience with Cypress
  • Some exposure to Playwright
  • Experience with integration-level testing, requiring the ability to work with both broad and detailed domain knowledge.
  • Proven capability to develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites across various environments: frontend/backend applications and API Service testing using tools such as Soap UI and Postman with foundational JSON and XML knowledge.
  • Experience with any SPA framework testing tools (e.g., e2e, Protractor)
  • Prior experience in a software development context is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Must be able to present solutions to both technical and non-technical project stakeholders.
  • Experience in an agile development process is advantageous.
