Your Role and Responsibilities...

In this position, you will collaborate closely with fellow team members to design, develop, and implement automated testing protocols to verify that all new code operates correctly and that system requirements are met. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Formulating, documenting, and executing automated testing strategies based on both functional and technical specifications.
  • Leveraging open-source tools or crafting custom scripts for automating tests that encompass back-end processing systems, APIs, and front-end web interfaces.
  • Applying technical expertise to diagnose issues related to user interfaces, applications, or backend systems/databases.
  • Engaging in project review sessions, presenting testing metrics/status, and alerting management to critical failures and milestones.
  • Utilizing bug tracking software to monitor and report issues.
  • Advocating for quality assurance and establishing quality standards/metrics within the team.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior team members.

Essential Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of five years of pertinent experience, demonstrating the capability to construct automated testing frameworks across various technologies (e.g., frontend, backend, API).
  • Proficiency in Linux.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with agile/lean methodologies and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of testing principles and best practices across different testing types: functional, edge/boundary, negative/failure, regression, performance, and load testing.
  • Experience with protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and SMTP.
  • Understanding of databases and/or Big Data.
  • Programming experience in Java and/or Python.
  • Proficiency in shell scripting.
  • Proven ability to lead and guide a team.
  • Capacity to influence the technical direction of projects.
  • Ability to mentor and guide colleagues through testing strategies and implementations.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering significant projects with a focus on quality and productivity.
