POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is accountable for the secure and efficient operation of vehicles within the Live Haul Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional responsibilities may be assigned:

1.

Safely operates Live Haul vehicles with efficiency.

2.

May be tasked with operating forklifts at contract grower sites in a safe and efficient manner.

3.

Conducts equipment inspections in line with company protocols and operating instructions. Reports any issues to the Supervisor.

4.

Performs minor maintenance on equipment as directed.

5.

Loads vehicles as necessary.

6.

7.

Secures vehicles with tarps according to established protocols during adverse weather conditions.

Assists in monitoring barn conditions, ventilation, and bird welfare during catching, reporting any concerns to the Supervisor.

  • Foster a positive work environment by communicating and acting in a manner that promotes effective collaboration with customers, clients, coworkers, and leadership teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Understanding of driving and traffic regulations.
  • Proficient skills to operate a vehicle safely.
  • Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Effective communication skills to maintain harmony with colleagues.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Capacity to work in dusty and challenging conditions.
  • Possession of a valid Class A Driver's license and a satisfactory driving record as per Company Policy 622, which includes no incidents of driving under the influence or reckless driving in the past 36 months.
  • Valid Pilgrim's Forklift license or capability to obtain one within 30 days.
  • Must be able to operate a manual Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV).
