Job Title: Ambulatory Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Ambulatory Nurse to join our team at Deaconess. As an Ambulatory Nurse, you will be responsible for providing direct or indirect care to patients who present with urgent, emergent, or potential health problems, as well as preventive care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide general patient care, assistance with procedures, and documentation of activities and patient/family education.
  • Prepare patient for examination, set up any necessary equipment, and assist physician with procedures and examinations within scope of training and as ordered by physician.
  • Administer oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, allergy antigens, oxygen, and other in-office medications and immunizations as ordered by the physician.
  • Obtain and document prior authorization as needed, and document all information in the EMR.
  • Receive and respond to telephone requests from patients under the direction of the physician and/or nurse practitioner.
Requirements:
  • Graduation certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or graduation from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant- American Association of Medical Assistants, Registered Medical Assistant- American Medical Technologist, or other relevant certifications.
