Advanced Practice Professional in Emergency Medicine

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Professional to join our Emergency Medicine team at WVU Medicine. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency medicine and the ability to work collaboratively with our team to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Manage comprehensive and individualized care for emergency medicine patients and their families in the DEM and immediate post-discharge in the ambulatory setting.
- Complete pre-procedure evaluations and integrated assessments.
- Order additional tests or consults as deemed appropriate, in collaboration with emergency medicine faculty or following established clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Perform and communicate results of diagnostic tests, following established clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
- Consult and communicate with DEM clinic and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings in patient evaluations.
- Perform succinct comprehensive clinical evaluations and document findings in medical records.
- Facilitate patient DEM discharge by coordinating appropriate services and tests prior to discharge, necessary for outpatient follow-up appointments in the clinic.
- Develop a comprehensive individualized plan of care for emergency medicine patients, including teaching, discharge planning, and necessary referral to other members of the healthcare team or admission as necessary.
- Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree in Nursing.
- National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
- American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and ATLS certification required.
- ACNP or FNP considered.
- American Heart Association PALS certification is encouraged.
