Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Neurology Care Specialist to join our team at WVUHS Medical Group. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive and individualized care to neurology patients and their families in the inpatient phase of hospitalization and immediate post-discharge in the ambulatory setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage comprehensive and individualized care for neurology patients and their families.
  • Complete daily rounds, consults, and pre-procedure/evaluations.
  • Perform and communicate results of diagnostic tests following established clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
  • Develop a comprehensive individualized plan of care for neurology patients, which includes teaching, discharge planning, and necessary referral to other members of the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with other leaders and staff to effectively achieve patient outcome-based improvements in care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master's Degree in Nursing.
  • National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
  • Licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ACNPs preferred but will consider FNPs.
  • Masters level education as Medical/Surgical (as applicable) Physician Assistant preferred.
