Job Summary:

The Walsh Group is seeking an experienced HSE Specialist I to join our team in the Greater Los Angeles Area. As a key member of our Water division, you will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring all aspects of health, safety, and environmental processes at various project locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive EHS assessments and recommend corrective measures to project management for unsafe conditions.
  • Provide training and education to Company personnel on EHS requirements and recommend advancements to materials.
  • Assist project management in coordinating subcontractor EHS protocols, vendor, and owner personnel working on company projects.
  • Coordinate project EHS programs with subcontractors and assist in planning and coordinating work to minimize risks.
  • Conduct accident investigations and complete incident reporting for Project Management review.
  • Establish hospital and clinical care facilities for each project and accompany injured employees to treatment and medical evaluation.
  • Ensure all EHS protocols are followed and advise Project Management on Industrial Hygiene protocols.
  • Administer the Company's Drug-Free Workplace Policy and ensure proper testing.
  • Facilitate orientation of all project employees to EHS practices required by the Company.
  • Provide a weekly safety update to EHS Leadership and administer the corporate SPAT process on assigned projects.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification preferred.
  • Less than 3 years of experience in the construction safety field.
  • Some travel required.
  • Required to stand, walk, sit, and climb stairs or ladders.
  • OSHA 30 hour preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR AED preferred.
  • Self-motivated and leadership skills.
