We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Compliance Specialist to join our team at Peckham Industries. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the communities we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs and policies to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
  • Conduct regular safety assessments and audits to identify hazards and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate accident and good catch reports, and lead discussions to develop incident root cause analysis and implement solutions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training content and conduct training sessions for employees.
  • Partner with business lines to support the Corporate Safety strategic plan and special projects.
  • Track and report on the status of insurance claims and accidents.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in safety or a related field, preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in safety, construction, and/or manufacturing industries, with OSHA, MSHA, IH, or similar certifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach and teach employees at all levels.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently to balance member safety, compliance, and productivity.
  • Objective mindset to facilitate and investigate safety incidents with cooperation from all stakeholders.
  • OSHA/MSHA certified instructor, a plus.
  • Computer literacy, Microsoft Suite.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.
Work Environment

This role requires extensive travel by personal vehicle to operations throughout New York state, primarily based on the needs of the business. The job will require frequent walking, bending, or standing as necessary, as well as driving.
