Job Summary:
Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and managing process equipment while performing mechanical upkeep throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with regulations to maintain safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.
  2. Conduct preventative, corrective, and emergency mechanical maintenance on all facility equipment, including welding and refurbishing tasks.
  3. Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues, documenting findings and communicating with management.
  4. Oversee plant operations in alignment with company policies and standard operating procedures.
  5. Maintain accurate records of operational data and monitor compliance with permit requirements.
  6. Fulfill fire guard duties and confined space monitoring as required.
  7. Engage in training programs within designated timeframes.
  8. Perform general maintenance tasks to uphold a safe and efficient work environment.
  9. Ensure proper handling and storage of tools and equipment.
  10. Exhibit safe work practices consistently.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Proficient in welding, pipe fitting, and equipment refurbishment.
  2. Capable of wiring motors and conducting zero energy checks using a multimeter.
  3. Adept at identifying operational inconsistencies and hazards.
  4. Skilled in operating powered tools safely and efficiently.
  5. Thorough understanding of fire protection systems and equipment.
  6. Flexible to work various shifts, including overtime and emergency call-ins.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Competent in computer operations.

Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  2. 2 to 4 years of experience in wastewater, steam, or similar process plant operations, or equivalent experience.

Working Conditions:

  1. Physical activities include talking, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
  2. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments.
  3. Exposure to noise levels requiring shouting to communicate.
  4. Involves working near moving mechanical parts and in high-risk conditions.
  5. Frequent exposure to confined spaces and areas that may induce claustrophobia.
