Supply Chain Director

Position Overview

Pivotal Solutions seeks a seasoned Supply Chain Director to lead the integrity of materials management function, encompassing product costs, vendor negotiations, inventory control, and direct/indirect costs.

Responsibilities include Purchasing, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and Inventory Planning, with a focus on achieving an optimal level of inventory investment across lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Establish and execute processes for inventory forecasting, planning, and control across all lines of business.
  2. Implement and execute inventory planning strategy and tactics to ensure continuous supply of required materials and flawless delivery.
  3. Maintain required inventory levels to support production and sales processes while optimizing Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD).
  4. Promote best practices in inventory management across lines of business, utilizing corporate systems and fostering cross-division collaboration.
  5. Own the continuous improvement process to meet stretched targets for On-Time Delivery (OTD), stock coverage, customer satisfaction, and cost reduction.
  6. Coordinate interdepartmentally to evaluate customer and supplier requirements, lead times, and other factors for inventory planning.
  7. Lead Procurement strategic and tactical activities, including developing and implementing roadmaps for make-or-buy long/short-term purchasing agreements.
  8. Locally coordinate sourcing strategy with the global commodity team.
  9. Perform and publish root cause analyses on key metrics, including Customer Service Levels, Supplier performance, and Inventory Management.
  10. Source and locate suppliers suited to meet company requirements for price, quality, and delivery.
  11. Own the Supplier Qualification process in coordination with Quality.
  12. Manage supplier relationships, complete supplier quality assessments, and visits as required, understanding supplier abilities and constraints.
  13. Develop, manage, and report on KPIs for direct reports.
  14. Continuously evaluate suppliers and alternate sources of parts to meet QCD targets and LEAN objectives for the division.
  15. Develop, implement, and manage a system to evaluate, monitor, and report supplier performance.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or equivalent.

7+ years of experience in procurement and materials management in a manufacturing environment.

Strong computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and other Windows-based Office software, along with strong ERP and MRP skills.

Progressive personal growth within the organization, cross-functionally and vertically.

Management experience, including budget and personnel responsibility.

Demonstrated experience in leading teams and developing direct reports.

Prior hands-on experience in a lean environment desired.

Six Sigma experience is a plus.

Strong emphasis as a team player that thrives in a changing team environment and presents themselves in a polished professional manner, including the ability to work independently with efficiency and accuracy.

Strong organizational skills; must be able to multi-task and handle multiple priorities.
