Role Summary:
The Family Care Specialist plays a vital role in collaborating with legal guardians to deliver Triple P (Positive Parenting Program-Level 4) educational support and works directly with adolescents and teens to implement Aggression Replacement Training. This position actively engages children and youth from diverse backgrounds, including those involved with the juvenile justice system, in activities that foster emotional and developmental growth. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing tailored service plans in partnership with each family.
- Delivering approved skills training to clients and families to address specific needs across various settings.
- Conducting reassessments of the child and family’s needs every 90 days to adjust service plans accordingly.
- Coordinating services with other treatment team members.
- Assisting families in accessing financial support or services for which they may qualify.
- Planning and facilitating activities while actively participating with children and youth as needed.
- Providing education and modeling of social skills.
- Fostering therapeutic relationships that encourage personal growth and independence among children and families.
- Ensuring adherence to agency policies and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records and fulfilling all documentation requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in a human services or education-related field.
- At least one (1) year of experience in therapeutic, child welfare, or juvenile justice environments preferred, though other candidates with relevant education or experience may be considered.
- Training in Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) and Aggression Replacement Training (ART) will be provided.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required.
- Understanding of social work principles and practices.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a professional and confidential work environment.
- Capability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
- Flexibility to work varying hours based on client needs.
- Hybrid work setting: Office and community environments.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
- Frequent travel required (reliable transportation and valid Texas Driver License necessary).
