We are seeking an experienced professional with a robust background in managing liability claims. As a Liability Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of liability claims, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and insurer standards. You will facilitate effective communication both internally and externally, provide sound recommendations regarding file reserves and settlements, and contribute to our dedication to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Claims Oversight: Manage a portfolio of liability claims, ensuring timely and appropriate resolutions in line with various state regulatory requirements.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain clear and accurate communications regarding assigned claims with all stakeholders.
  • Adherence to Best Practices: Implement claim handling best practices as guided by management and regulatory/professional bodies.
  • Collaboration: Partner with external attorneys, insurers, and third-party vendors to effectively settle or adjudicate cases.
  • Reporting: Generate periodic reports and maintain comprehensive file communications to ensure a complete and accurate record at all times.
  • Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with company policies, legal standards, and insurer requirements in all claim-handling processes.
  • Licensing: Maintain a Florida resident liability adjuster's license and pursue reciprocal or other licenses in states where Fox operates.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate Pacific time zone requirements.
  • Mediation and Hearings: Attend mediation sessions or other hearings as necessary.
  • Claims System Management: Accurately enter claims data into the claims system and maintain an up-to-date diary system and case log.
  • Decision Making: Provide sound recommendations regarding file reserves and settlements and communicate them effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • At least five years of experience in adjusting liability claims.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a collaborative team environment.
  • Prior experience in a claims, insurance, or risk management department is essential.
  • Experience within a rental car company's claims department is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of liability insurance policy coverage, limits, and deductible provisions.
  • Familiarity with common medical issues related to liability claims.
  • Knowledge of liability claim rules of fault/settlement and state regulatory provisions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
